We are members of the Step Forward Disability Group and work in the community to raise awareness of issues impacting on people with disabilities on a daily basis. Living in rural communities we face many challenges accessing transport to attend services/supports. Having to use accessible taxi’s is very costly when you are on a limited low income. The goverment need to ensure all transport, facilities and structures are integrated to meet the needs of people with disabilities to ensure a a better quality of life and support full participation in society.
