My name is Jacinta and I am from Cavan. One of the inequalities I face today as a wheelchair user is that when I am allocated respite I have to go to a cancer centre in Cavan.
I don’t have a problem with the staff in the centre, but I just don’t feel it is an appropraite for non – cancer person and someone so young to be recieving care in such a place.
I feel more resources and funding needs to be put back into the disability sector and allow for more carers and PA’s.
It is not fair that there is only cancer centres and hospitals in Cavan for non – cancer sufferers with a disability
