My name is John and I live in Cork. I love to get out and about and my passion is country music so I love to attend concerts when I can. I am very fortunate that I can transfer from my wheelchair into the passenger seat of a car so getting a taxi is no problem for me but I see the difficulties my housemates have trying to get wheelchair accessible taxis so that they too can have a social life. The lack of wheelchair accessible taxi is a huge problem for them. Most wheelchair accessible taxi’s only run between Monday and Friday between certain times like 9am – 6pm. Weekends are virtually impossible to get a wheelchair taxi. This needs to be addressed so that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to get out and about when they want to especially at weekends.
Does That Seem Fair To You?
