Whilst working in the UK (London) I held a responsible job in accounts/ finance and had brilliant support. TypeTalk is provided as a phone is needed in this field of work but over here in Ireland (returning for personal reasons) I cannot even use a phone (due to being deaf) in my own home as there is no service and my minicom sits in a box in the attic. We got notetaker support in London for all courses/ classes and I did acting up to “Acting For The Camera, Stage 1” (Professional). Whilst working in London I got Disability Living Allowance which is given for as long as needed and irrespective of income earned. Medications/ prescriptions are free on the medical card (itself relatively simple to get) In the UK there is social inclusion, support, equality – in Ireland there is exclusion, discrimination, ostracism and inequality. Our present government are patronising, gratuitous and allowing ostracism, left right and centre.
Does that seem fair to you?
