I’m writing this on behalf of my fiance who is a quadriplegic after a fall in 2012. He was 25 and I was 23 at the time. We are a young couple with barely a social life because it is not compulsory for taxi companies to have an accessible vehicle active at all times. When we do have notice from friends and book a taxi, it costs extra because of the time it takes to clamp him in etc which is totally unfair! He didn’t choose to be in a wheelchair.
