I need to be able to move freely around my community.
But I can’t because, my access is blocked when footpaths and ramps are not properly installed or maintained. Our local library has accessible doors with push button controls inside the building but the outside door is only open on one side and is to narrow for wheelchair access.
Also there are lamp posts and poles positioned in the middle of some accessible parking spaces which block the doors of the vehicle from opening.
Without consultation with people with disabilities these issues will continue to occur to arise.
