I’m living in Athlone, as a person with a visual impairment 10 km from town. My wife leaves the house at 8am, if I was to get into town I’d have to be gone with her in the morning at 7.30 – without my pa, or walk the country roads on my own which would be extremely dangerous. The point is that there’s no public transport for me to avail of. I’m receipt of 20 hours PA support. I’ve had a cut of 6 hours this year. I’m 65 now and will be needing more hours not less as I get older. I’m now hugely concerned that my pa support is being continued to be eroded. The way in which money is spent, how it is prioritised is wrong.
Does that seem fair to you?
