I am a personal assistant with the irish wheelchair association, I work with a client with MS. At the later part of last year our local Lidl store was having a makeover of its car parking facilities. My client and I visited the store many times during this renovation and had a chance to speak to one of the architects on one occasion about the inadequate parking facilities for the disabled. He said he would bring this up at the next meeting. Now that the car park is finished, there are only 2 disabled parking bays for us to use, which are normally occupied by people without permits, who simply just can not be bothered to adhere to the signs or possibly do not want to walk the extra few feet (oh how I wish they knew what it was like not to be able to walk those extra few feet). This situation is totally unacceptable in 2016, when there are so many people in genuine need of these facilities, and of course when you speak to the management of the store, there’s nothing they can do!!!
