My name is Simon and my main issue is with transport on the buses in and out Dundalk. I have found there to be no saftey belts for wheelchair users such as myself, and if I am travelling up to friends in Northern Ireland, I have to give plenty of hours notice in advance of my journey. This is not right, nor it is fair to treat a person like that.
With no correct safety belts for wheelchairs on many buses and with the speed that drivers often reach, I don’t always feel safe or secure on our bus services.
I also being forced into taking taxis and this adds an extra cost on the my journey, as buses have not always came for me and I am often expected to plan my journey around a time that suits the bus company.
